Wednesday, March 5th

It was an exciting morning at Miss Patty's! There was a knock at my door and we all ran to see who it was. There was a woman here to deliver ten (or more) helium filled balloons. Harrison's grandma and grandpa had them delivered here because it was Harrison's 5th birthday! There was a note that said "share these balloons with your classmates". Excitement (and balloons)filled the air!

There were some new/used toys here today also. I have a tub of Rescue Heroes and their many vehicles. My boys used to love to play with them when they were younger. They were a big hit with your kiddos! Of course the old Matchbox cars, race tracks, and blocks to build tunnels are still their favorites! They have come a long way over the past few months. They share so well now and are very considerate of each other........almost ALL of the time! :)

We did our usual calendar and alphabet activities. They guessed how many noodles were in the guessing jar and then the birthday boy counted them out for us. There were 19!

We talked about the letter "E" and about eggs today. They made the letter "E" on paper eggs using four strips of paper. Then we painted paper eggs with colored sweetened condensed milk. This milk "paint" makes very pretty eggs! I didn't send them home with the children however, because they take a long time to dry and are very sticky while still wet. Look for them next week!

For a science project we looked at real eggs. We started with a raw egg. We talked about and examined the shell, the egg white (albumen), and the yolk. They poked at the yolk and felt the slippery egg white. THEN, we examined a hard boiled egg. All of the parts were still there but they were very different. They got to hold the yolk in their hands.

The fun with eggs continued right through snack time! Harrison did not know that I was planning on an egg theme for the day but he showed up with a birthday treat in the shape of.....you got it......EGGS! He brought delicious jello jiggler eggs! Thanks Harrison!

We read several stories. They all LOVE to be read to and I LOVE reading to them. They are very good listeners. We all did a number puzzle together and then it was time to bundle up and head home.
